Spiritual Direction

“The first task of seeking guidance then is to touch your own struggles, doubts, and insecurities—in short, to affirm your life as a quest. Your life, my life, is given graciously by God. Our lives are not problems to be solved but journeys to be taken with Jesus as our friend and finest guide.”

Henri J.M. Nouwen, Spiritual Direction

Who is a Spiritual Director?

A Spiritual Director is a companion who comes along side another as a prayerful listener and co-discerner to discover the activity of God in one’s prayer, desires, and life experiences.

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual Direction does not take the place of psychological counseling or therapy, but provides a place for individuals (or groups) to process life with a person who will mirror life back to them.

Spiritual Direction provides a safe environment for discerning next steps for growth, helps deepen self-knowledge, leads to deepening intimacy with God, and focuses on the present moment and the ongoing journey. Spiritual Direction creates space to explore the hard questions of faith.
